Under the direction of supervisors is directly responsible for the prompt, efficient and accurate performance of a variety of specimen collection and handling procedures. Will collect specimens from in-patients, out-patients, nursing homes and other facilities as required.
Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit for the shift of assignment. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the GN is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse or the Clinical Coordinator of the shift. The GN must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Performs a variety of clerical duties in the Radiology Department. Utilizes communication skills and other behaviors to create an environment of customer service and hospitality under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Imaging Services.
The liaison is responsible to the Anesthesia Practice Manager/PAT Nurse Manager and/or designee for overall PAT specialty practice (Surgery Center, Medical Center Inpatient/Outpatient and ENDO coverage). The liaison functions as a leader and facilitator with designated specialty areas: patients, surgeon(s), surgeon and other medical/specialty offices, Anesthesia, PAT, clinical nursing area and administrative staff. Incumbent promotes professional interaction based on the current ASPAN standards and Medical Center policies. The goal is to optimize surgical outcomes and readiness to prevent delays and/or cancellations. The liaison coordinates and is responsible to problem solve, increase communication, collaborate with all team members on achieving surgical assessment, planning, implementation, teaching and evaluation. The liaison is cross-trained to all PAT specialties, in the event of increase volumes or PTO.
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the credentialing of Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Provider appointments, reappointments, clinical privileges and maintenance of the credentials data base. This role supports medical staff departments and committee meetings.
Provide primary health care and perform selective medical services such as examinations, formulation of treatment plans and therapeutic procedures, in all clinical venues, under the direction of the physicians. Actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
Essential Functions
- Obtain complete patient medical history and physical data, review records and assess patient heath status.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
- Perform a complete/symptom limited physical examination, record findings and establish presumptive diagnosis.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures such as x-rays, electrocardiograms and laboratory tests and interpret results for deviations from normal.
- Analyze data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Perform patient care by administering injections, immunizations and oral medications in compliance with applicable laws/guidelines and suturing wounds. Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Document patient information and care provided in the patient’s electronic health record.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Provide instructions to the patient and family, if necessary, regarding medications and treatments.
- Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs if applicable.
- Using the Electronic Health Record, document and bill for services rendered.
- Perform other duties as required.

Manage, direct and coordinate the staff and operations at clinic sites of the Mount Nittany Physician Group (MNPG) in order to provide quality and cost effective patient care. Perform a wide variety of clinical and operational duties in areas such as operations management, physician and patient management, budgeting and revenue cycle management, human resources and compliance. Responsibility for multiple sites with ancillary services and visiting specialists and supervises site specific lead personnel and generally greater than 8 providers. Actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
The Foundation Specialist is responsible for performing the accounts payable, purchasing, reporting operations of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation in conformity with the accepted accounting principles of Mount Nittany Health’s Finance department.
The Foundation Specialist is also responsible for database management, and also various gift documentation and recognition projects for Mount Nittany Health Foundation. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with solicitation, acceptance, and recognition efforts of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation.
Responsible for the decontamination, preparation and distribution of sterile and non-sterile items. Ensures and maintains safety and quality in the performance of these duties.
Provide and interpret comprehensive audiological evaluations including but not limited to: audiometry, tympanometry, Otoacoustic emissions, acoustic reflex testing, and electro/video nystagmography. Also provide hearing aid evaluation, fitting and maintenance.

Provides professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems, based on the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Standards. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patients needs, development of a plan of care, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatments to protect, maintain, and restore health for the pediatric through geriatric age population. The Critical Care nurse recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening emergency situations and takes appropriate action.
