Diagnoses and treats adult diseases and injuries while addressing ways to prevent these conditions. Practices in medical office, Mount Nittany Medical Center, and various other facilities as needed. Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
- Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders and determines nature and extent of injury or disorder using medical instruments and equipment.
- Elicits and records information about patient's medical history.
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
- Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition.
- Administers or prescribes therapeutic procedures, treatments, and drugs as indicated by diagnosis.
- Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, activities, and methods for prevention of disease.
- May round at various hospital facilities.
- Takes emergency call on a rotating basis on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Refers patients to other medical specialists when indicated.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines in accordance with federal law.

Practice hours are 8:30 to 5:00 PM daily. Physicians see patients in the office and may round at Mount Nittany Medical Center daily.
Responsible to the Manager of Women & Children’s Services for overall practice. Functions under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and circulating nurse as a scrub or assist. Assists in the delivery of patient care in the Delivery Room under the supervision of the professional nurse according to AWHONN Practice Standards.
Assists in providing technical and clerical support to the Medical Staff Office team and to the Medical Center’s Medical Staff, including clinical departments and committees. Assists with the coordination of all Medical Staff requirements. Safeguards confidential information in the Medical Staff office.

The Athletic Trainer acts as a representative of Mount Nittany Health (MNH) to provide athletic training services for MNH contracted organizations and provides clinical support at various locations throughout MNH. The Athletic Trainer encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Work is typically performed in various settings including secondary schools, physical rehabilitation clinic, physician offices and community centers.
Position is directly involved in the daily operation of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory under the direction of the Manager, of Cardiology & Pulmonary Services and Nursing Supervisor, Cardiology. Assumes responsibility for following rules during procedures performed in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory: patient preparation prior to procedure; assists physician in the sterile field (scrub); monitors and documents patient hemodynamics; Monitors patient receiving moderate sedation (with current Advanced Cardiac Life Support status); functions as the second circulator in the procedure room, and patient recovery post-procedure. Is involved in maintaining supply inventory, equipment and data. Serves as technical resource for co-workers. Participates in orientation of new staff. Participates in reporting of procedural data to benchmarking, regulatory, or accreditation agency(ies), as required. Participates with all team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Participates in on-call rotation for emergency cardiovascular procedures outside normal operating hours. Will be assigned to the Electrophysiology Suite for vascular procedures or device implants.
