Functions under the direct supervision of the Manager, Cardiology & Pulmonary Services and Nursing Supervisor, Cardiology. Performs all aspects of clinical support for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. May assist with compilation and reporting of procedural information to benchmarking, regulatory, or accreditation agency(ies), as required. Participates with all team members to provide and achieve optimal patient outcome. Participates in on-call rotation for emergency cardiovascular procedures outside normal operating hours. Will be assigned to the Electrophysiology Suite. Will function as a Charge RN on a day-to-day rotational basis in the Cardiac Catheterization/ Electrophysiology Laboratory. Accepts assignment to Echo-Cardiology and maintains competencies for both departments.

Essential Functions
- Obtain complete patient medical history and physical data, review records and assess patient heath status.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures needed.
- Perform a complete/symptom limited physical examination, record findings and establish presumptive diagnosis.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures such as x-rays, electrocardiograms and laboratory tests and interpret results for deviations from normal.
- Analyze data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Perform patient care by administering injections, immunizations and oral medications in compliance with applicable laws/guidelines and suturing wounds. Prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Document patient information and care provided in the patient’s electronic health record.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes and assist in provision of continuity of care.
- Provide instructions to the patient and family, if necessary, regarding medications and treatments.
- Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs if applicable.
- Using the Electronic Health Record, document and bill for services rendered.
- Perform other duties as required.

The Behavioral Health Therapist functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing psychiatric social services, group and family therapies, insurance pre-certification, retrospective and concurrent case review services, and discharge planning.

Determine and apply appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10) code(s) to services for billing. With quality and reimbursement contingent upon coding, it is the responsibility of the Physician Group Coding Specialist to have proper training in ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS and AAPC coding rules and principles. Coder has frequent interactions with internal and external clients. Coder focuses their work on detailed documentation abstraction from the EHR or other document and selection of CPT and DX coding based on this review. Serves as the liaison for immediate and ongoing documentation and improvement for physician coding practices, compliance and revenue optimization for all practices.
The position bills claims to HMO’s, Blue Cross Plans, Medical Assistance, and Medicare using standard hospital UB04’s and 1500 forms through electronic claim transmission and paper in HIPPA compliant format. Reviews registrations for complete information obtained by registration to ensure accurate billing. Reviews all claims for accurate departmental charges before billing. Contacts insurance companies by telephone and internet for up to date billing procedures. Contacts physician’s offices by telephone for billing information. Performs a variety of duties relating to interfacing with insurance professionals (Hospital Insurance Provider Representatives) and other departments within the Medical Center. Performs a variety of duties relating to the processing of data for billing purposes.

Under the direction of the Manager, Marketing and Advertising, the Communications Strategist develops strategic communications plans and creates impactful content surrounding the philanthropic activities of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation, while supporting the Marketing Communications department in the creation of creative, impactful content to be used across a number of channels. The strategist is an expert communicator and storyteller with experience in content creation, collaboration, project management, and client relations.

Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager/designee for overall nursing practice. Provides professional nursing care to treat human responses to life-threatening problems, based on the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) Standards. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patients’ needs, development of a plan of care, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatments to protect, maintain, and restore health for the pediatric through geriatric age population. The Critical Care nurse recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening emergency situations and takes appropriate action.
