*This position qualifies for the Mount Nittany Health Employee Referral incentive as per policy 6063*   Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit for the shift of assignment. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the GN is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse or the Clinical Coordinator of the shift. The GN must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.   Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patient's needs, development of the plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures.

Provides physician, clinical and billing staff support to ensure the completion of the Medical Record to meet accrediting standards and the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties, scanning and uploading, and quantitative/qualitative analysis. Primarily works with Ambulatory Office records.

The Behavioral Health Therapist functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing psychiatric social services, group and family therapies, insurance pre-certification, retrospective and concurrent case review services, and discharge planning.

This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patients’ needs, development of a plan of care, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatments to protect, maintain, and restore health for the pediatric through geriatric age population. The Critical Care nurse recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and life-threatening emergency situations and takes appropriate action.

Responsible to the Manager of the ED for overall practice; works under the supervision Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Performs duties that provide a secure and safe environment to patients, staff, equipment and facilities of the Mount Nittany Health System.

Performs radiologic examinations, including portables, C-arms, fluoroscopic, urological and special procedure examinations under the direction of the Supervisor, Imaging Services.

Coordinates daily clinic activities including patient scheduling and flow, ensuring adequate and appropriate staff coverage and managing employee and provider schedules on a daily basis. The Clinic Coordinator role is in addition to primary clinical function in the practice (i.e. rooming patients; authorizations; triage) according to established standards, practices and healthcare techniques. Demonstrates competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.

The Manager assumes responsibility to manage day-to-day operations of the unit/department to provide high quality and safe patient care in a safe practice environment. The manager directs and develops staff; collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals; and provides service excellence. Serves as a member of the Medical Center’s Emergency Medical Services Team whose primary responsibility is to assist the Paramedics with inter-facility transports, assist with non-emergency invalid van transports, and provide quality patient care services in accordance with Medical Center and departmental policies and standards, applicable laws, and accepted Emergency Medical Technician practices.
