Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit for the shift of assignment. In the absence of the Unit Manager, the GN is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse or the Clinical Coordinator of the shift. The GN must practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patient's needs, development of the plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures.

The Supervisor aids to develop staff; collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals; and provides service excellence. This individual remains clinically competent in the area of practice and is able to take a direct patient care assignment as needed.
The Supervisor assists the Manager with but not limited to:
• Workforce planning;
• Establishing and implementing standards for practice and maintain authority, accountability and responsibility for staff in their area of responsibility;
• The ongoing support and cultivation of a culture of shared decision making;
• Budgeting and planning.
Supervises the operations and staff: Environmental Services
Perform administrative activities associated with patient office visits. Actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.

Coordinates daily clinic activities including patient scheduling and flow, ensuring adequate and appropriate staff coverage and managing employee and provider schedules on a daily basis. The Clinic Coordinator role is in addition to primary clinical function in the practice (i.e. rooming patients; authorizations; triage) according to established standards, practices and healthcare techniques. Demonstrates competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.
The Manager assumes responsibility to manage day-to-day operations of the unit/department to provide high quality and safe patient care in a safe practice environment. The manager directs and develops staff; collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals; and provides service excellence. The manager is also responsible for coordinating and ensuring organizational emergency preparedness and participating with various agencies to ensure readiness.
The Manager assists the Director with:
• Long-term strategic planning for the workforce;
• Establishing and implementing standards for practice and maintain authority, accountability and responsibility for staff in their area of responsibility;
• The ongoing support and cultivation of a culture of shared decision making;
• Budgeting and planning.
• Engaging stakeholders within and without the organization to ensure appropriate level of readiness for emergency situations.
Manages the operations and staff: Emergency Medical Services Department and organizational emergency preparedness.

Fulfills all patient access functionalities including, but not limited to patient registration (in both outpatient and emergency settings), inpatient, outpatient, and physician practice appointment scheduling; accurate patient identification and recording of patient demographic and insurance information, admissions, and verification and monitoring of insurance authorizations. Provides excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. Interviews patients or their representatives in order to obtain information necessary for high-quality fulfillment of duties listed above. Collaborates and works as a team with inpatient, outpatient, and physician practice staff. Demonstrates the ability to learn and operate within multiple different IT systems and programs. Exhibits effective communication skills providing for effective delivery of important information and shows competence in telecommunications.
