Determine and apply appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10) code(s) to services for billing. With quality and reimbursement contingent upon coding, it is the responsibility of the Physician Group Coding Specialist to have proper training in ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS and AAPC coding rules and principles. Coder has frequent interactions with internal and external clients. Coder focuses their work on detailed documentation abstraction from the EHR or other document and selection of CPT and DX coding based on this review. Provide assistance in completing a variety of clerical, messenger and receptionist duties under the general supervision of the Unit Director/Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
To perform a wide variety of duties including but not limited to clinical physics support, computer treatment planning, QA-chart and calculation checks, machine calibrations, brachytherapy treatment planning and source management, and dosimetry.
This position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and serves as the dyad partner with the physician director for the cancer service line. The Service Line Director maintains accountability for the development and evolution of cancer services, with possible expansion to other services and areas, across all geographic regions and Mount Nittany Health sites by working through the health system’s Executive Team. This position will be accountable to the Service Line Executive Council “Executive Council” as well as the Cancer Service Line Steering committee.
The Transfer Center Coordinator serves as the primary contact for referring physicians requesting the services from Mount Nittany Medical Center for continued patient care. Facilitates all patient transfers into and outgoing transfers, as well as, all direct admissions for any service line/specialty. Integrates with Hospitalist teams for timely and efficient patient movement. The position requires the ability to multitask, identify and escalate concerns, maintain great customer service, and foster the intersection for patient access to healthcare services via the Transfer Center.
