Overview

The Project Manager-Interior Design reports directly to the Chief Facilities Management Officer (CFMO) and coordinates all efforts related to interiors recommendations for capital projects at Mount Nittany Medical Center (MNMC) and Off-Site Locations. Achieves these objectives by establishing, actively managing, and leading the project teams consisting of design professionals, consultants, leadership, user groups and contractors.

 

Works closely with project leadership teams on developing and implementing interiors strategizes and generates ideas around facility projects that effectively enhance the Mount Nittany experience.  Serves as an active member on project teams from planning, design on through to completion, collaborating with design team on all interiors recommendations.

 

Responsible for coordinating all efforts associated with signage, artwork and furniture and interiors recommendations. Upon completion, coordinates installation, quality assurance and follow up.

 

Responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary “image rounds” for all health system owned spaces. This includes partnering with departmental owners on sustaining a consistent quality look and feel for all environments of care.

Ultimately owns, implements, adheres to and updates the interiors standards book.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:

 

1) Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or interior design. May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific advanced education.

 

Experience:

 

1) Three years of experience in a healthcare setting responsible for interiors, signage and artwork.
2) Five years of facilities project management experience, preferably with a regional acute care health center with a mix of medical center and ambulatory care spaces.
3) Experience with successful capital planning and project budgeting.
4) Experience and training with Project Management Software.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

1) Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, materials, and techniques of the signage craft and artwork.
2) Skills in designing all types of signs.
3) Knowledge about the specific maintenance of engraving equipment.
4) Ability to work effectively with others.
5) Ability to lift and transport equipment, supplies, and finished products.
6) Conducts business in a professional and cordial manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of Mount Nittany Health System.
7) Ability to prioritize, work independently and manage multiple projects/priorities across multiple locations.
8) Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
9) Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
10) Thorough knowledge and use of various PC applications as follows: PowerPoint, Excel applications, database applications, process flow diagramming applications, electronic mail, word processing and the overall ability to learn and use new systems

 

License/Certification/Registration:

 

1) Current and valid driver’s license required.
2) PMP certification preferred.
3) ASHE, Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) a plus.

Receives minimal supervision from the Chief Facilities Management Officer.
