Overview

This position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and serves as the dyad partner with the physician director for the cancer service line. The Service Line Director maintains accountability for the development and evolution of cancer services, with possible expansion to other services and areas, across all geographic regions and Mount Nittany Health sites by working through the health system’s Executive Team. This position will be accountable to the Service Line Executive Council “Executive Council” as well as the Cancer Service Line Steering committee.


The Service Line Director is responsible for the overall strategic direction and financial performance of the cancer service line at Mount Nittany Health. This role requires a visionary leader who can integrate clinical and administrative functions to deliver high-quality patient care, enhance service line growth, and achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:

 

1) Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is required.

2) Master’s degree is preferred.

 

Experience:

 

1) Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the specific service line.
2) Broad cancer service experience, including multiple sub-specialties relative to the overall service line preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

1) Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
2) Ability to work in a matrix environment/organizational structure
3) Excellent strategic planning and organizational abilities.
4) Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
5) Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
6) Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
7) Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
8) Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
