Casual/ Wage Payroll
Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessment of the patient's needs, development of the plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing measures and evaluation of the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures.
Education:
1) Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required; BSN preferred.
Experience:
1) Previous RN experience preferred.
2) Charge qualified preferred
3) Current experience in refilling and programming intrathecal pain pumps.
4) Experience in Urine Panel/Dip procedure.
5) Experience in operating a C-arm for fluoroscopic procedures.
6) Assist in programming a neurostimulation systems
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
1) See Registered Nurse job description.
2) Knowledge of Intrathecal pumps (refilling and reprogramming)
3) Knowledge of addiction medications especially Suboxone.
4) In depth knowledge of opiate medications.
5) Ability to attend medication and device seminars.
6) Ability to start and maintain IV administration.
License/Certification/Registration:
1) Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
2) Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
3) After four months from the hire/transfer date, meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and renews ACLS every two years.
4) Within three months from the hire/transfer date, completes Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI NCI) training and renews every 2 years thereafter.
