Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Marketing and Advertising, the Communications Strategist develops strategic communications plans and creates impactful content surrounding the philanthropic activities of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation, while supporting the Marketing Communications department in the creation of creative, impactful content to be used across a number of channels. The strategist is an expert communicator and storyteller with experience in content creation, collaboration, project management, and client relations.  

Qualifications

Education

 

1) Bachelor's degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, or similar field.

 

Experience

 

1) 5 years professional experience in a relevant field, preferably combining publicity, community engagement, and philanthropy.

2) Extensive experience writing communications and creating content for varied audiences and occasions, including community health, donor appeals, fundraising campaign content, promotional copy, and event promotion.

3) Experience in preparing presentations for executives, donors and boards, including presenting data and insights.

4) Skilled at utilizing website CMS and writing marketing driven and donor-centric content.

5) Experience managing multi-channel communications and branded materials for events, including newsletter stories, speeches, ads, posters, banners, signs, invitations, apparel, and giveaways.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

 

1) The strategist is an accomplished communicator and storyteller with exceptional written and oral communications skills (speech and presentation writing, business writing, public speaking).

2) Exceptional philanthropic writing, editing, storytelling, fact-checking and proofreading skills to deliver a message that is accurate, cohesive, and compelling.

3) Must be adept with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, CMS platforms, and Collaboration Tools.

4) Must be able to work proficiently in a fast-paced, changing environment.

5) Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity.

6) Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence from executive leadership, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

7) Must possess a strong understanding of donor communications.
